Pipe Dreams
Drie veelbelovende internationale ontwerpers werden uitgedaagd om na te denken over The Future of The Daily.
Sinds 2014 nodigt Designregio Kortrijk ieder jaar recent afgestudeerde ontwerpers uit verschillende creatieve disciplines uit voor het Designers in Residence Kortrijk programma. De geselecteerde ontwerpers voor 2022 zijn Ila Colley, Yun-Chu Liang en Metincan Güzel.
Over the past month they have developed their ideas around daydreaming, establishing the Cornershop of Daydreams. The Cornershop is a contextual vehicle for the designers to explore how daydreaming can disrupt the reproduction of unfreedom in daily life, and instead increase fantastical and speculative agencies.

In this site-specific work in the ground floor toilets of the Budafabriek users will overhear the building as it daydreams, drawing on resources from its social and environmental histories, languages of infrastructure, and processes from the bleaching and finishing of textiles. The installation tests a way to collectivise daydreaming in real everyday space through scenography, lighting design, as well as live and recorded sound.
