Creativity Festival
WONDER Creativity Festival pays tribute to the creativity and innovative ideas of young talent. WONDER challenges the limits of our imagination, and confidently looks ahead to the future. Therefore, the city festival gives a forum to inventive minds who come up with remarkable solutions to the societal challenges we face today and in the future.
The beating heart of WONDER is on the BUDA island, with lots of exhibitions and installations by and with creatives from all over Belgium and internationally.
The Kortrijk city centre provides the backdrop for the rest of the festival. At the many locations, public and private partners annually present exhibitions, lectures, workshops or events that celebrate imagination and creativity through a range of disciplines in the broadest sense.
Together with designers, artists, entrepreneurs and students, the festival aims to be an impactful platform for innovative, sustainable, digital and social ideas, projects and products. WONDER encourages reflection and open-mindedness, and enthuses visitors to shape the future boldly and colourfully together.
In 2023, we welcomed over 11,000 visitors and presented work/projects/initiatives by as many as 300 designers/artists in collaboration with +100 organisations and +45 companies. Our visitors are:
1. Education: Belgian students and teachers from primary, secondary and part-time classrooms; higher education
2. Companies: from all sectors and regions, those open to innovation and creativity
3. Designers and architects from all over Belgium
4. General public: families (children!), citizens, associations

WONDER Creativity Festival has its origins in Week van het Ontwerpen, but has been organised under the name WONDER since 2020. The organisers are Designregio Kortrijk and Stad Kortrijk, in collaboration with numerous partners such as Kortrijk Xpo, Howest, Voka West-Vlaanderen, Intercommunale Leiedal, UGent Campus Kortrijk.
