1. CONTENT
WONDER wants to inspire a very broad target group around creativity and innovation. We not only want to enthuse, but above all to encourage reflection and open-mindedness, as well as offering a glimpse of the future. We want to be a platform for high-quality innovative and inspiring ideas, projects and products within the following thematic tracks: product innovation (e.g. on materials, design, ...), sustainability/circularity, digitalisation, social challenges (such as care, inclusion, mental health), urbanisation, etc. These will also be strongly highlighted for visitors this year.
WONDER is diverse, we find it very important to present both initiatives from companies, schools, organisations, individuals etc. side by side. Different creative sectors will be featured. Anyone can submit a proposal, if the content, presentation and quality match the festival.
2. PRAKTICAL
- Location:
- Or: Your expo, installation or event takes place in the centre of Kortrijk at a location you manage. You are responsible for your location.
- Or: You have a proposal, but no location yet. We propose a location;
- You confirm that you can visit during the entire WONDER period ideally from Tuesday to Sunday, but at least weekends, from 10am to 6pm. During the week by appointment (target schools and professionals) is recommended.
- Scenography: The method of presentation is an important part of getting your content across to the audience in an inspiring way. You communicate how you see this fleshed out. We encourage sustainable use of materials here.
- You strive for (professional) quality both in content and presentation.
3. EVENT
If you add an event/activity/workshop to your initiative, we consider it a great added value. In this way, we link various target groups to other initiatives again.
4. FEE
A fee is requested for participation of your expo, installation or presentation in the trail and communication. For organisations in the field of education, knowledge and culture (schools, galleries etc), professional designers and trade businesses, €150 (excl. VAT) is requested if you provide your own location and €300 (excl. VAT) if you do not provide your own location. We will then suggest a venue to you.
Are you looking for a venue for an event? Then we will be happy to look into this on a customised basis. The main location, the Budafabriek, is also available for external events. You can contact us for this.
5. WHAT DO WE OFFER YOU?
In 2023, the festival welcomed over 11,000 visitors. The ambitions are to grow further in visitor numbers this year. Selected participants will be included in the official programme. This means:
- You will be included in following WONDER communication channels: website, social media etc;
- You will receive an extensive communication package;
- Professional photos will be taken of your initiative;
- You receive posters and city plans;
- An outdoor signage element will be offered to an external location.
6. TIMING
Deadline: Submissions can be made until Tuesday 16 April 2024, 12h00.
Shortly afterwards, the WONDER core group will meet to judge the submissions, taking into account the above participation conditions. It will be announced in early May whether your entry was selected. Communication to the press will start in June (exact dates to be announced later) and the festival communication campaign will start in September.
